Build a Body You Can Count On: Give Recurring Tension a Closer Look
You Want to Stay Active. Your Body Keeps Interrupting.
You enjoy challenging your body. Training, hiking, playing a sport, or keeping up with a busy life is part of who you are. But lately, staying consistent takes more negotiation.
You spend longer warming up. You modify movements around familiar tightness. You take a few days off, feel better, and return—only to find yourself working around the same restriction again.
Eventually, you start asking: “Can my body still handle what I want to do?”
Before you keep lowering your expectations, give the patterns interrupting your activity a closer look.
Notice What You Have Started Working Around
Some restrictions become so familiar that you stop questioning them. You always stretch that hip before a run. You avoid reaching overhead on one side. You shorten your stride or change your stance because it feels easier.
Those adjustments may help you get through an activity. They also give us useful information about where movement feels limited and what deserves investigation.
In THE LÖSEN SOLUTION™, recurring muscle tension is a clue. I want to understand when you notice it, what you change because of it, and how it affects the activities you want your body to support.
You do not need to wait until a restriction stops you completely before asking what can be done about it.
Look Beyond the Area That Gets Your Attention
The spot that feels tight is a starting point. I also assess movement through related regions above, below, and around it, looking for restrictions and side-to-side differences.
I describe these connected muscle tension patterns as tension chains. Investigating them helps us consider how restrictions across several regions may be adding stress, strain, or extra effort to a movement.
For a runner who repeatedly feels restricted through one leg, that may include checking movement through the trunk, hips, and ankles. For a golfer, it may include comparing rotation through the trunk and hips alongside shoulder movement.
Your activity gives the assessment context. We look for findings relevant to what you are asking your body to do, then check what changes when we address them.
Feeling Looser Is a Start. Consistent Participation Is the Goal.
During care, we CHECK a specific movement, apply an assisted tension RESET matched to the findings, and RECHECK the same movement. You compare the tension, range, and effort required.
An easier movement gives us something useful to build on. We then follow how that change carries into your activities: whether you move more comfortably, need fewer modifications, or still encounter the same restriction.
Feeling looser after a session is one part of the picture. The demands of your activity, how you progress, and how you respond between sessions also matter. Your plan should account for what you want to do repeatedly, not only what feels easier once.
The meaningful question is: “Is this helping me participate more consistently in the activities I care about?”
Give Your Movement Regular Attention
If you only pay attention when discomfort forces a change, it can feel as though you are always trying to catch up. Learning your tension patterns gives you a more deliberate way to care for your movement.
As we work together, I teach you to CHECK relevant movements, apply targeted DIY RESETS, and RECHECK your response. We build a routine around your findings and the activities you want to support.
You also learn when a response needs another look. Knowing when to modify a movement, stop a RESET, or ask for guidance is part of taking an active role in your care.
A routine you understand gives you a practical way to notice changes and respond with purpose.
You Can Be Proactive Even When You Feel Good
After RELIEVE and RESTORE, OPTIMIZE • Perform Better™ offers proactive check-ins for people who want to keep giving their movement attention as they train, work, travel, and pursue their goals.
You may arrive feeling pretty good. I assess your tension chains, identify subtle restrictions, and apply assisted RESETS matched to what we find. Together, we RECHECK for changes in mobility, tension, and effort.
These visits complement your DIY skills and ongoing activity. The work is shaped by how you move that day and the demands you want your body to meet.
Feeling good is an opportunity to invest in how you move and what you want to keep doing.
