Articles and practical insights from Dr. JD Hasenbank, creator of THE LÖSEN SOLUTION™.

Explore how muscle tension, movement patterns, and everyday demands may relate to the discomfort that keeps returning. Drawing on 26 years of clinical experience, Dr. Hasenbank shares ways to recognize useful clues, understand your response to care, and take an active role in how you move. More understanding. Clearer next steps. Greater confidence in your body.

Relief Is the Beginning. A Body You Can Trust Is the Goal.

Feeling Better Opens the Door. What Do You Want to Do Next?

When muscle tension interrupts your day, you want relief. You want to turn your head comfortably, bend without hesitation, or finish a workout without constantly working around a tight area.

Feeling that tension ease can change your whole outlook. Movement takes less effort. An activity you were avoiding starts to feel possible again.

But if you have experienced relief before, another question may follow: “How long will this last?” You want to enjoy the improvement without waiting for the same restriction to return.

Feeling better gives you a starting point. Understanding your tension patterns and learning what to do next helps you build on it.

What Would Trusting Your Body Look Like?

Perhaps you want to train consistently, travel comfortably, or spend an active afternoon with your family. You want to say yes without first calculating how much discomfort you might have afterward.

That is the larger purpose behind THE LÖSEN SOLUTION™: helping you work toward a body you can rely on for the life you want to live.

We look at how you feel after care, how you move through the week, and what happens when you return to your activities. We also consider whether you know how to respond when familiar tension gets your attention.

Your goals give us something meaningful to work toward—and something practical to measure progress against.

When Tension Returns, There Is More to Investigate

If a tight area feels better after care and returns after a few workdays or workouts, both parts of that experience matter. The improvement tells us something helped. The recurrence gives us more to investigate.

I consider your symptom story, the movements that feel restricted, and the demands you place on your body. That includes checking related regions above, below, and around the area that gets your attention.

These connected patterns are what I describe as tension chains. We investigate how restrictions along those chains may be adding stress and strain to the symptomatic area. We also look at everyday positions, repeated movements, and changes in activity that may help explain when the tension returns.

For example, if your back feels better after care but tightens again during long drives, that timing matters. We can examine your sitting position, movement through your hips and trunk, and your response to changes in both care and daily habits.

The return of tension is information we can use to refine your path forward.

Build on What Changes

During care, we CHECK a movement, apply an assisted tension RESET matched to the findings, and RECHECK that same movement. You compare the tension, available range, and effort required.

When movement feels easier, you have experienced a useful change for yourself. Your response helps guide the next step. We then look at how that change carries into the activities you want to do.

An easier movement in the clinic is encouraging. Seeing how it responds during your workday, workout, or weekend gives us a fuller picture of your progress and what still needs attention.

Learn What You Can Do Between Visits

One of the most frustrating parts of recurring tension is feeling dependent on someone else every time it returns. You may recognize the familiar tightness but still be unsure what to do about it.

This is where RESTORE • Function Better™ builds on the relief you have experienced. I continue working through your tension patterns while teaching you how to CHECK a movement, apply a targeted DIY RESET, and RECHECK to recognize your response.

We practice together, refine your technique, and build a routine around your own tension chains. Your movement needs, response, and learning pace guide the process. You also learn when to modify a movement, stop a RESET, or ask for individualized help.

You gain more than an experience of relief. You develop skills you can use and a clearer understanding of when you need support.

Look for Progress in Your Life

A change in range of motion is useful. What that change allows you to do gives it meaning. As care progresses, we return to questions such as:

  • Can you participate more comfortably in the activities that matter to you?
  • Are you spending less of your day working around tension?
  • Does movement take less effort during the tasks you used to modify?
  • Can you recognize a familiar tension pattern and respond with a skill you have learned?

These observations help us see what is improving and what still deserves attention. They give you concrete reasons to feel more confident in your body and your ability to care for it.

Trust grows through experiences you can recognize, skills you can use, and progress that matters in your daily life.
